Week 1: Monday


Monday Week 1

I’ve just spent two hours trying to work out how I can replace the fish dishes with the vegetarian options, and it’s not easily done. You either have to do vegetarian or not. No in between. This is going to be harder than I thought. This kind of effort is why I always abandon these kind of things. If it’s too hard, and takes too much of my time, I just don’t want to do it. I work 60-70 hours a week, I don’t really have time to fit this kind of mentalness in. Also, how do I adjust my meals for my fractured lifestyle? I have work this morning (5-10am) and then have a gig tonight (5-11pm) and if I don’t eat enough before each of them, I will fall apart half-way through.
That’s the point of this blog, I guess. Saying these things out loud, and coming up with solutions before I run aground. I have a lot of editing to do today, but I guess that is going to have to be pushed out until tomorrow to accommodate fitness and shopping. Or do I try to do editing and shopping? Editing and fitness? 
 Okay. After typing that I went to the supermarket downstairs and got some muesli. I don't have to give in to my own doubts. I wanted to head straight for the Baker's Delight, but I took a left turn into the Coles and came out with muesli. Untoasted.
Best laid plans... So, I did the shopping on the way home. I forgot half the things I needed and had to go back out. My espresso machine broke, and as anyone with a 4am alarm will tell you, leaving the house without caffeine is non-negotiable. I took my precious to the coffee doctor and grabbed the few forgotten essentials on the way home. As I started to set up for exercise, the coffee doctor rang to tell me my precious was ready to come home from the hospital already! Off I dashed. The drive was useful to listen to some edited podcasts before uploading them. By the time I got back I had to shave and get the train. No time for physical activity. Walking back and forth to the station is going to be it for me today. It's about 7 or 8 km of walking. Still haven't done my fitness test or measurements. Also not done today: the washing and the dishes.
